Couple: Madison and Raqel ~~Cherry~~ Currie [I can finally say that!]
It was a sweet thing to celebrate and take part in supporting the union of two of my dearest friends committing themselves to each other through marriage. This past week has been a time of laughter, tears, celebration and best of all a sweet reminder of our great Savior and how»>“He withholds nothing good from those who trust Him.” (Including relationships.)
Their vows were beautiful and best of all gospel centered: “I promise to love you with a love that is rooted in grace, that never gives up, never runs out and never expects anything in return. I pray that our love is pure, that it is manifested deeply and seen more clearly as the years go on.”

More photos to come and until then you can enjoy Madison and Raqel first dance song. Raqel never fails us with good music.

And I thought the best place to take them would be where I have lived the last four years::: in the dry yet open Canyon.

And what’s a photo-shoot without a few roommate shots? This was my favorite part.

Practicing our graduation walk. And I think this photo perfectly describes us because Bethany will probably be wearing heels and I’ll be happy and content in a pair of comfy flats. It doesn’t really matter// as long as we both make it across the stage.

My Dad’s encouragement last night in a card. “With perseverance even the snail entered the ark!” I haven’t quite figured out if my Dad thinks I move as slow as a snail but none the less I like that quote. Yes four years have almost been accomplished at TMC but I am called to live for today and not worry about tomorrow. I want to take each day [up until graduation] a day at a time because there is plenty to be thankful for each moment, knowing all good things come from above and I am empowered by Christ.
But on an end-note, maybe I will move like a snail across the stage at graduation. Got to get as much time up there as I can up there, right? ;)

Seasons change. And so do we.

Just thinking about the changes that are about to occur in my life. And came across these inspirational photos. [Had to share.]

As Julia Child once said “Find something you’re PASSIONATE about and keep TREMENDOUSLY interested in it.”

I love that. Wise words Julia. I might not know exactly what my dream job is right now (I know I probably should have that figured out after four years of studying…but I don’t! Maybe give me a few more years.) But I do know something I am passionate about and that is my wonderful Savior. My wonderful Savior who has provided, cared, loved, forgiven and redeemed me. I know that He is about to lead me in a new direction and phase of life and He calls me to [TRUST] and [COMMIT] and He will make my paths straight. What could be more comforting than that? That I don’t need to find my identity and happiness in the things of this world but in the one who promises eternal life through Him.
What an adventure it is following God! Because I don’t know about you…but I need Him every hour//minute//season of my life.
Remembering tonight:::The only One who can truly satisfy the human heart is the one who made it.

Proverbs 20:6

Jeb Stuart was the Civil War’s version of a B-2 Stealth Bomber. This gallant, and gusty West Point graduate had an uncanny ability to infiltrate the federal lines without being detected. On the Confederate side he was nicknamed “the eyes of the army,” and was unquestionably one of General Robert E. Lee’s most trusted soldiers. On several occasions, he outflanked General McClellan’s lines, destroying munitions, gathering vital information about the enemy’s strength, and even confiscating secret documents. Stuart’s brawn, and brains as an intelligence officer were unparalleled in Civil War battles. With each mission, Stuart would submit his report to Lee, signed, “Yours to count on, Jeb Stuart.”

Being able to count on someone or something is a blessing! Dependability is a wonderful thing! It draws us to the same restaurant again and again. It brings security to relationships, and builds lasting friendships. It sells cars, washing machines, and computers. It adds weight to our Christian testimony. In the end it will win the well done of God. Faithfulness toward man and God is a thing of great value, and its worth is heightened by the fact that it a rare jewel. In Proverbs 20:6 we read, “Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?” The wise writer of Proverbs is reminding us that a faithful man is a rare find! People who profess their love and loyalty are a dime a dozen, but a man who actually delivers on his promises is an exception (Psa. 12:1). It is one thing to tout one’s own virtues, but quite another to be virtuous. Many people profess “unfailing love” but such professions often ring hollow. Men are alike in their promises. It is only in their deeds that they differ.

Surely, this rare jewel is what makes the Lord Jesus such a treasure to us. One of the most charming characteristics of Christ is His constancy (Heb. 13:8). He is faithful in His witness to the truth (Rev. 3:14). He is faithful in His work as our advocate (1 John 1:9). He is faithful in lending help to His people (Heb. 2:17-18). He is faithful to complete His work of salvation in us (1 Thess. 5:23-24). Great is His faithfulness (Lam. 3:23). And that which we find in Him, He seeks to work in us through the Spirit (Gal. 5:22). We can be faithful through the power of the indwelling Spirit.

May our Lord find us faithful when He comes (Luke 18:8)! May we show faithfulness in the tough times! When faithfulness is most difficult, it is most necessary. May we show faithfulness in the little things! A little thing is a little thing; but faithfulness in the little things is a very great thing. Who is counting on you, and can you be counted on?

“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3, NKJV)

Large trees represent power, majesty and stability. Have you ever noticed the difference between a tree planted by the water and a tree far away from water? The tree next to the water is much more healthy and vibrant. Its fruit and blossoms are the most beautiful.

In the same way, when you are “planted” in the Word of God, your spirit is fed and you grow strong just like the tree by the water. You’ll bring forth fruit at the proper season. In other words, you’ll be in the right place and the right time. You’ll be productive and fruitful. And notice the end of today’s verse. It says that whatever you do will prosper! Do you want to prosper in your relationships? Seek God’s Word regarding relationships. Do you want to prosper in your health? Seek God’s Word about healing. Do you want to prosper in your finances? Seek God’s Word regarding finances. Make sure your heart and mind are planted in the Word of God. Let Him illuminate your heart with truth. Let Him wash over you with His promises. Seek Him, trust Him and obey Him, and everything you do will prosper!

My prayers go out to all those involved in the Boston Marathon. I hope we bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly. It’s sad that some people live to hurt others but its a reminder we live in a fallen world. May God comfort those who are wounded and the families of those who were lost.

Remembering that one day God will return and cleanse the world of sin and suffering. And where we stand with God will matter, therefore place your hope in Christ.

Why? Because without Him I am nothing. He is my redeemer and the source of my strength. Therefore, He deserves more of my attention than anything else in this world.
Teach us, Lord, full obedience,

In the radiance of Your purity.
Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
